How to enter:
Submit your two-course menu for 3 guests:
Main Course: Must contain pork fillet
Dessert: Must feature chocolate
Your menu should be designed around a budget of R150.00 per person
Include recipes, photos of your dishes, and a personal CV detailing your passion for food
Deadline for applications: 11 July 2025

Competition Requirements:

White, round main course plates must be used for plating (26cm+)

All ingredients (excluding pork, chocolate, and Lancewood products) are to be supplied by finalists.

No help is allowed during the final cook-off – it’s all you!

The judges’ decision is final – so bring your A-game!

The Details
Who can enter?
This competition is open to all Grade 12 learners from secondary schools in the Free State and Northern Cape who offer subjects such as Domestic Science, Consumer Studies, Hotel and Catering, or Home Economics. Whether you’re already honing your skills in school or simply have a deep passion for food, we want you to apply and show us what you’ve got!
What’s at stake?
The winners from both provinces will walk away with incredible prizes and the opportunity to continue their culinary journey with FBI. Finalists will be given the chance to attend various full-time courses at FBI and potentially have the opportunity to participate in international placements. Past winners have worked in kitchens across the world, and this could be your chance to join them!
